The apartment claims they will treat the sidewalk and parking lot surrounding the complex. However, I learned otherwise. Around 2:00 in the after as I was walking out to the parking lot along the sidewalk by the building itself I slipped and cracked a bone in my foot on the sidewalk that had not been treated with salt. I called Katie once again and she said they had yet to salt the sidewalk. I found it ridiculous that they had not salted at least the sidewalk by 2:00 in the afternoon. I had asked Katie if she could look at the security footage of my fall for insurance purposes, however Katie said she could not find in on any of the footage. Turns out the security cameras are not "everywhere" because I fell right outside the door of the building.
Roommate Matching Does Not Actually Occur-
You'll have full access to half of the parking lot, which is conveniently placed on the other side of the forty ton vehicles moving about night and day on the other side of the construction zone you live by. Think you can drive around them? Think again! There is only one road in and out. Think you can get homework done in the apartment you're paying for? Think again! Ninety decibels of manual labor, backup noises, honking, door slamming, partying, and the guy three rooms down watching TV will ensure you can't!
By now you're likely rushing to sign a lease- but before you commit, we're offering free trials! Unfortunately all of our trial rooms are booked, but you can get the same experience by pitching a tent in an active garbage dump beside a bustling downtown area.
Do not expect to be able to walk outside the apartment on icy days:
Love it here. So happy and comfortable
We've intentionally designed the building this way, to save you money on an alarm clock. You're guaranteed to wake up well before class any time someone makes any noise anywhere in the building! Listen in on your roommates conversations even though you're both shut away in your rooms! Enjoy hearing your own voice repeated back to you every time you speak? You're in luck! Our echo chamber design team has made sure to implement their speciality into every room in the building! No need for alarms on Wednesdays and Thursdays, as your friendly building mates upstairs will surely wake you with their weekly screaming fights.
Ridiculously expensive, crappy construction, not near enough parking, and can hear through the walls like they’re paper. Don’t ever live here.
Mid year I was told by the Property Manager Katie Hunt that I would be getting a new roommate, which I was completely OK with. However, Hunt failed to mention the student was at least 8 years older than myself (19). If you want to be stuck with a roommate who is way older than you I recommend Stadium View.
As the year went on, I continued to have problems with this roommate. The cultural differences were their and I did suffer. I have severe allergies to different foods and these problems landed me in the doctor/ hospital several times due to my roommates' cultural cooking. I had asked my roommate several times to tell me when she was cooking with certain seasonings so I could leave the apartment at minimum. After spending a night in the hospital due to severe allergic reactions I had enough and could no longer afford the medical bills due to the visits for my allergic reactions. I was quick to email Katie about the issues I had been having with my Iranian roomate. However, Katie's reaction was in no way helpful. Katie had said there was really nothing she could do at that point, regardless of the severe health situation I had already been in due to the allergic reactions to the cultural food my roomate had been cooking. The problems continued and the doctor visits continued. Finally, Katie said there was a unit that had become open. However, she failed to mention that the unit had previously had trouble with drug usage within the apartment itself. I learned this from a roomate that moved into my original unit from the unit Katie was trying to put me in. I quickly did not accept Katie's offer and emailed her saying it was not a good idea for me to move into an apartment that had drug issues in the past- especially with my allergies. The management in Stadium View is very awful and honestly pathetic if you ask me.
If you would like to enjoy where you live this is not the apartment for you. Although they look extremely nice from the outside they are far from nice. The furniture is extremely uncomfortable to the point we don’t even use it. The construction was cheap and awful. We have had a cabinet fall off, poop in the toilet apon move in, and an awful experience with management. If you value your sanity don’t live anywhere but the 4th floor. The walls and ceilings are very thin and you will begin to think Bigfoot is your neighbor. The stairways are always extremely dirty with cigarette butts, spit, and garbage that stays there for weeks. We have had multiple problems with bugs including COCKROACHES. When we addressed management with the issue we were told by the maintenance guy that they were probably just a different bug and we were just dumb. After multiple days pest control finally came to our apartment and sprayed 1/4 of the apartment. Although that was somewhat reassuring it was pretty useless considering the cockroaches are more than likely infesting the entire building not just our single apartment. We have had nothing but problems... DONT FALL FOR THEIR TRAP.
Worst Living Experience I've Ever Had-
Stadium View Suites- "come live near an active construction site or two, enjoy an apartment with literally no design for noise reduction, and spend a good portion of your day wondering what the f**k your neighbor is cooking- because you're sure smelling it!"
As you move about the residency by stair (there are no other options) be sure to spend a few extra seconds on each floor, as each possess it's own unique olfactory odor. The third floor will usually be a mutual moldy peanut butter, whilst the second is more of a vibrant sulfuric tang. But our favorite is saved for the ground floor, an inescapable rotten pickle scent you're sure to never encounter anywhere else as long as you live.
