Sorry your experience wasn't as good as mine was.
I was a resident there in the late 70s and from what you describe sounds totally different from I remember. The staff was great in fact super cool, the one on one support was also great. And as far as I know they never had any incidents where they had to be investigated. If what you say is true a lot must of changed since i was there in 78. Ed Rupert is the only staff whos name I can remember and he was really great, super cool! very very nice guy and good director.
What would one have to do to get a call back about potentially mentoring or being a foster/adoptive parent? I have made several calls to no avail.
it is very helpful and you get the help you need. i'm doing good and i get the help i need. you get to go places and have fun. you should take you kid here to get the help they need.
I was there from 1992 til June 6 1993 and it was hell staff overwhelmed and lack of training didn't help they did yell at u and put hands on u or locked up in a small padded room glad DHS is finally looking at them but that doesn't say much in this state from 1980's to today they fail to help at anything
I just got out of that he'll hole in March 2015. It was horrible and was always complete chaos. Staff cussing out kid's, then we start getting back at them. When you do get therapy it is unhelpful and extremely stressful. Staff take away our things and then limit them. The kids are also thieves. Never recommend you're kids there you will soon regret it. Orchard place is the similar story, just worse.
