My husband and I just moved to Ames and I was in desperate need for new running shoes after (quite literally!) running a hole through my last pair of Brooks. After a bit of searching I found that Emerhoff's was the only place in Ames to carry this brand. I stopped in and was immediately greeted by Mike who was nothing short of exceptional in ensuring my new running shoes fit correctly and met my needs. Mike was knowledgeable, friendly and reminded me of the kind of service I would receive when going to visit my grandparents in their town with a local shoe store. I also appreciated his questions about my running habits, mileage, etc. and did not try to upsell - he actually recommended a cheaper shoe that would better fit my needs. if you are looking for a store with a local feel, fantastic service and expertise in the type of shoe you are looking for, there is no one better! My husband and I will be visiting again!

My wife recently needed to purchase a pair of specialty shoes. We went to Emerhoff's and they had them in stock. The salesperson could not have been kinder or more courteous. Prices were reasonable, too. Great experience.
